Information on the Battery Act

The following information is directed at those who use batteries and do not resell them in the form they were delivered to them (end users):

1. Free return of used batteries
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obligated to return used batteries. As a distributor of batteries, we are obligated to take back used batteries (excluding products with built-in batteries). Our obligation to take back used batteries is limited to the type of batteries we have or had in our product range as new batteries, and to the quantity that end users typically dispose of. You can either send used batteries back to us sufficiently stamped or return them free of charge directly to our warehouse at the following address:

2. Meaning of battery symbols


batterie_muell Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out dustbin. Batteries containing harmful substances are additionally marked with chemical symbols.
For batteries containing more than 0.0005% mercury by mass, more than 0.002% cadmium by mass, or more than 0.004% lead by mass, the chemical symbol of the respective harmful substance is displayed below the dustbin symbol.

Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004% lead by mass
Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by mass
Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by mass.
